    APB---Looking for KX-5 parts

    Hi folks,

I have a very sad situation. One of my beloved Yamaha KX-5 controllers has suffered a very tragic cartage incident. The good news is that it\'s functional. The bad news is that most of the plastic body parts are broken in one way or another...and the battery compartment lid and guts somehow got separated on top of that.

VERY sad. Holy cow, I\'ve been babying those controllers since the 80s. First, my 80s hair turns white and starts falling out. Now my 80s controllers are dying. Don\'t even talk to me about cruising successfully in tight slacks. Sad, sad, sad.

Yamaha literally laughed. KX-5 parts are extinct.

    SO...

I\'m hoping you guys can help me put out an all points bulletin.

If you know anyone with an electronically dead KX-5, or one that\'s otherwise nonfunctional that still has body parts, I would like to purchase it. At this point, I\'d rather not pay for a working one, just hoping to find a dead one to cannibalize for parts. If that fails, I may be open to purchasing another one.

If anyone has info, please let me know. Many thanks in advance.

Ask for Steve Culpepper. If they don\'t have one DOA in the back, he can probably help you find one.
