Topic: Sonar 3 and SIR

    Sonar 3 and SIR

Isn\'t Sonar 3 supposed to have PDC so that it will work seamlessly with SIR? It\'s not working for me. When I put SIR in a bus/aux track, I get that same old delay - can have to insert delay compensation manually. I have applied the most current patch. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance...

    Re: Sonar 3 and SIR

I think the PDC in Sonar only works at playback as far as SIR is concerned. During recording, bypass/disable SIR first so that there will be no delay.

This is just what I have experienced, so I can\'t speak for everyone else.

    Hope this helps!

Weird thing is I\'m getting the delay on playback as well.

Sonar does support PDC. In fact, I believe it was the first major sequencer to support it. However, you\'r VST wrapper needs to support it as well. The latest version of the Cakewalk wrapper, as well as DirectiXer, both support PDC. You do need to set your latency fairly high (I forgot the exact value, but for me, usually 20ms or higher) to make it work.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies. Actually, I\'ve been quite a lame-o here. I forgot to register SIR as a vst when I re-installed Sonar - Duh! So I did that and all is well. Thanks again.
