Anyone using Seagate Drive on their Giga Systems??

I just picked up two 80 gig seagate (st380021a) drives for a new giga system. Before I open them I want to make sure there are no issues I\'m unaware of with these particular drives.

FYI Best Buy has a rebate deal going right now that knocks the price down to = what you can get on Pricewatch.com

    Thanks,

    Colin

I use a Seagate Barracuda IV 80Gb - and its
great. Its a bit slower than the equivalent
IBM or Maxtor, but its reliable, does\'nt heat
    up and is practically noiseless.

I use two Seagate Barracudas, one 40 gig and an 80 gig. They seem reliable and quiet. I just added a controller card to my rig so that I can add another Seagate 80 gig Barracuda.

I also installed an 80 gig Barracuda on my colleague\'s computer for digital video.

So far they seem fine and their price is right.

I\'ve never had a problem with Seagates over the years and have a Barracuda IV at the moment.

I would also agree that they are very quiet drives.

I use the Barracuda for my system drive (20gig) and a Western Digital with the 8mb buffer (40gig) for my samples.

    Cheers, Scott.

Yep Seagate\'s are great. I have quite a few of them - the only really noiseless drive I ever tried. Whoever says the new Maxtors are noiseless... must either be deaf or haven\'t tried the Seagates.
