Mod Wheel Question

What do I need in terms of hardware and software to be able to use the pitch bender on my Roland JV-50 as a mode wheel for GPO with a laptop? Any sort of cables or anything... please don\'t be afraid to go with basic explanations because I\'m new to this sort of high-quality softsynth.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Mod Wheel Question

You need midi in, obviously. If your laptop doesn\'t have this (most won\'t) you will need either a separate midi adapter (like the M-Audio Uno http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=products.main&ID=4f73c099681cb8ca 6b0e91aca5d85b56 ) or, alternatively, you can get some kind of midi adapter for your soundcard/game port. I\'d go with the Uno.

After that just get Markelford or Dan\'s excellent freeware software programs that remap this stuff (and, of course, you need to be using software that can accept the MX plugins, like Sonar or Cubase).
