    Synthetic-what causes the \"bouncy sound\"?

mr synthetic-do you have any clue what causes the \"bouncy sound\" in win98se?

several months ago i chronicled my battle with this on a new giga-puter, and eventually solved it by re-installing win98se. it recently resurfaced and the re-install didn\'t work. i can\'t afford any more downtime with this problem, so i just ordered new mobo/cpu/ram to run XP in the hopes that it will go away on a new machine. it would be nice tho to use the equipment i\'m replacing in a future machine if possible tho, so if you have any idea what the problem is behind it, i\'d love to hear about it.

if you don\'t know what i mean by the \"bouncy sound\" here\'s the thread with my woes:
