    Arrow Art Vista Steinway Demo

People are asking me for another demo of the upcoming Art Vista Steinway, but I haven't had the time. Here is an mp3 I rendered from a midi-file a while back. I think it was right after I got the release samples in place:

    Very nice sound, Hans!

Any idea when your new Steinway is going to be ready?

Thumbs up Re: Art Vista Steinway Demo

    MORE, MORE!

Wow, it's getting embarassing how much I'm fawning over this library. I have a great deal of respect for all the library developers here, but, Hans, it sounds like you had mics in the strings. It's really a beautifully immersive sound with tons of character!

    Nhick,

Release of this piano will be after Giga3.0 is released. It is too large for Giga2.5.

    Thanks Chris,
Sorry I haven't gotten to those fresh demos yet...

    Hans-

No problem! I'm just being an impatient pain in the behind! As an aside, is there any chance of releasing this library for other samplers? I do own Giga 96 (v.2.5) but really have no interest in upgrading to 3.0 as I already own HALion and have honestly had much better luck with it.

It integrates far better into my Cubase SX setup than the current Giga ever would - although with Rewire capability, Giga 3.0 wouldn't be quite as painful as Giga 2.5.

Still, if that's the only option, I may have to bite the bullet and go Giga 3.0 - which looks like a July release from what I've heard...

    Dear Hans,
I also vote for some more demos as the decision which library to buy is a tuff one with 2 serious competitors (PMI´s old lady and Worra´s Black Grand) being in the line as well. I´m very tempted by the introductory price of the PMI piano but as a fan of your Malmsjö I believe that you will give the library character (which has often been overlooked).

I could buy all 3 libraries but this could end up in a divorce

Recorded close to the strings, I take it, because the sound is immediate and powerful. But no artificiality, which I think is hard to accomplish in a dry sample. The tuning has character. I like it.

Hans, could you comment (sorry if you've already told us) on how many dynamic levels you recorded? (pp, p, mp, etc)?

    John,

The piano was recorded in eight velocities: ppp, pp, p, mp, mf, f, ff, fff. There are both sustained samples, and "pedal up" samples.

There are also eight matching layers of release samples.
