Need to reformat after configuring drives to Raid 0

    Hi everyone
I have just bought a second raptor hard drive for my samples. I wish to run the 2 raptor drives in Raid 0 configuration (on a P4C800-E deluxe mb)
Does anyone know if I will have to reformat and reload XP after I configure my drives to Raid 0 ?

    thanks
    Mal

I guess at a 99.9% the answer is yes. It would be better having the OS on an extra HD, but I believe that you have to reformat your drives each time you add or remove something from the raid 0, so reinstalling of the OS might be a minor problem compared to backing up all your additional data (samples). But I might be wrong, maybe actual raid controller can add new drives without harming existing data.

I thought you had the OS on one of your WD drives...

Yes, you'll need to reformat the Raptors to switch to RAID. You won't have to reinstall the OS if it's on another partition.

Ghost can backup directly to your DVD-R. No need to use the second WD drive for that.
