    Thumbs up Re: Welcome Steinberg

    Outstanding - where's HALion 3?

Just kidding - it will be great to have everyone sharing in what is one of the best sampling platforms out there today.

Why do you think Halion is superior to Gigastudio (just curious)?

I didn't say that - I said it was "one of"... one thing that HALion has that GigaStudio will never have is integration. Between Kontakt and HALion I think it's been shown that sampling efficiency can be had in a VST sampler, as well as technically and musically useful programming, stability, and ease of use - even though it's taken some time to get that that point.

At some point "the giant will awaken" and everyone will line up to hail the return of the king, adn everyone will be singing happy Giga-songs for a while. But for me it's about the music, and with tightly integrated, efficient samplers I get to think about the music and forget about the technology. I'm really, really looking forward to HALion 3, and am hopeful for third party support. This forum is a good start in the right direction.

    Yea,

I don't think I even looked at the Halion 2 docs but maybe 1 time. Load and go!
And big knobs with big labels to turn!

    Why do you like it?

reason I ask is that I'm not sure if I want to go from GS 2 to GS 3...might go the NI route or Halion.
