First: I'm no stranger to GS and have been running it sucessfully on 98SE
with no problems for a few yrs.
The strange behavior here with GigaStudio 2.50.48 is on XP.
There is extreeme latency ... almost 1 second delay between the strike of a key and the sound of a note.
Any external contoller ( keyboard or drum machine )
when plugged into my pci-822 midi in, immediately shows a
***constant red input light***
( the 1 2 3 4 midi in indicators )
...that's a constant red light even if no notes are being sent.
Unplug the cable ... light goes off ... replug the cable ... light goes on ...
latency is b,b,b,b,b,ba,a,a,a ddd.
There are no midi thru options on the pci-822 or GS so it's not
a midi echo problem as far as I can see...but there might be somewhere in XP
that I haven't looked?
I've tried two different controllers and they both show the same problem
and the latency is present with both.
Both of these controllers work correctly on the Win98SE machine
with no latency and no constant red light.
The drivers for the PCI-822 are the current drivers.
I also tried triggering GS using MidiOverLan from my other Win98SE machine
and the same latency is present.
Any ideas or thoughts on this problem are welcome.
Hello Steve. You might wanna try upgrading your GigaStudio to a newer version. Don't know if that'll help ya... but I have GigaStdio 160 Version 2.54.... and the newer version kinda works better, in my opinion .
