    Fellow Officers Speak about Kerry

    sponsored links

    ***Advertisments***
Only 2 of John Kerry's 23 fellow Swift boat commanders from Coastal Division 11 support his candidacy today.

15 say he is "Unfit for Duty" as Commender-in-Chief
    4 are Neutral
    2 have died
    2 support him

Kerry is said to have some retired General Officers with him at the convention tonight. It would seem that this is supposed to indicate that the military supports John Kerry. Keep in mind while you watch that there are THOUSANDS of living retired General Officers (there are 869 GOs actively on duty). Can't he come up with more than a few GOs that support him? If not, why not?

    Where'd you get these figures?

If true, then it blows a huge hole in the theory that the media is overly sympathetic to the "right" seeing as how I keep seeing and reading statements in the news going on and on about how Kerry's legit because his fellow crewmates support him 100%, etc. They've never mentioned any disagreement among them. To read the articles and reports you'd think all of his crewmates supported him without exception.

He is unfit for duty as "Commender" in chief. "nice job you're doing.......that's great..........you guys are the best............"

No, commander in chief is job that should be filled by someone of low intelligence that gets his cues from God, that's lord jesus' daddy, or is it his daddy?

The Vietnam investor behind the "Swift Boat Vets" attack

The group attacking Kerry for his antiwar record is backed by a wealthy veteran who's profiting from his business ties to the Communist regime.

    By Joe Conason

May 14, 2004 | When the "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" launched its campaign against John Kerry 10 days ago, leadership and guidance were provided by Republican activists and presidential friends from Texas -- notably Houston attorney John E. O'Neill and corporate media consultant Merrie Spaeth. Indeed, although the group made its debut at a press conference in Washington, it looked and sounded like a Texas GOP operation.

On closer inspection, the ostensibly nonpartisan "Swift Boat Vets" seem to have another pair of significant sponsors with deep and long-standing Republican connections in Missouri. Both are officers of Gannon International, a St. Louis conglomerate that does lots of overseas business in, of all places, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Ties to Gannon can be traced via the Swift Boat Vets Web site (as an alert reader advised me last week). On April 14, the site was registered under the name of Lewis Waterman, Gannon's information technology manager, at 11301 Olive Boulevard in St. Louis, the firm's headquarters address. Although Waterman wouldn't discuss why he had set up the Web site, he didn't deny that his boss, Gannon president and CEO William Franke, had asked him to do so.

"The information about my client is confidential," said Waterman. He acknowledged knowing, however, that his boss Franke is a Navy veteran who served in Vietnam on swift boats. Gannon vice president Stephen Hayes, who oversees the company's office in Alexandria, Va., is likewise a swift boat veteran who first met Franke when they served together in the Mekong Delta.

Thanks, Glenn. Rob, we've all seen that salon.com article before. And again, just because it's funded by interested parties does not, in itself, invalidate the views of those who are in a position to have a very informed opinion of Kerry's performance in Vietnam. What you're trying to peddle is a logical fallacy. Stick to the facts, remember those? Stick to them instead of trying to discredit people through such spurious means.

Ah, yes, my typo is more important than the fact that his fellow officers think he's unworthy to be our nation's Commander-in-Chief.

By the way, "Commander-in-Chief" is a title and requires hypens...nice job, smart@ss.

These "-". In the context of "Commander-in-Chief", the hypens show the relationship of the words such that the word "Commander" is not to be considered "in" anything. To elaborate, if I said I was selling a "little used guitar", the wording could mean that the guitar has had little use or that I'm selling a very small guitar that is used. In such a case "Little-used guitar" makes the relationship of the words more clear.

...or are you pulling my leg?

Come on, Brady, why don't you be genuine for once? You'd be the first one to expose a liberal who was funding this kind of nonsense.

In fact, aren't you the one accusing Moore of spewing nonsense? That's right, I seem to recall that. He sticks to the facts, but you keep trying to discredit him through spurious means....

It's fairly obvious that this whole swiftboat thing is bundle of nothing.
