    LastLibs Acoustic Bass

Just downloaded this library tonight and gotta tell you it's the real thing. The bass is beautifully sampled and sounds clean and natural -- and has enough little fret sounds, harmonics, etc. to give it that touch of reality. Alan's done a great job.

I also love the automatic finger variations. I listen back to my doodles and can't hear any evidence of that "keyboard" feel. If I didn't know I'd played it, I'd swear it was the real thing.

Alan, I've gotta congratulate you on a job well done. Sign me up for the next one.

Wow Rob, thanks! It's good to hear some feedback from actual users.

I really tried to make it as authentic as possible and will continue to do so with future libs - focusing on one instrument at a time (mostly, like with this one, instruments that haven't recieved much attention).

I hope it can be put to good use - nowadays everyone is so focused on the programming and technology - alot of people forgot about the actual tone - the actual sound - its not about velocity layers and bit depths - it's about feel.

I just hope my users get that - and from the feed back I've gotten so far - I can tell they understand

    Thanks again!

Alan Russell - thanks for the kind comments.

Rob and JB - just for my own curiousity - which convolution engines are you running the bass body impulse in? (ie. Acoustic Mirror, SIR, Prestine Space)?

    Thanks.
