    DFH Superior (porgramming genious needed?)

I noticed that DFH does come with quite a bit of samples, however, are programming skills needed to really come off sounding real?

In addition, does anyone know if they offer a DFH 2 to Superior upgrade path.

    Thanks.

I dont know about the DKFH 2 upgrade path, sorry.

I dont think thats the case. They seem like 2 different entities
    entirely.

I have DKFH Superior. Its a monster. You do need some skills
    to pull it off.
Checkout the Toontrack website, there are links to some info
regarding basics of drum programming. Wich really has mostly
to do with Drumming more than midi.

And since Superior samples are completly dry and unprocessed,
they require mixing equal to that of a real kit. Wich is usually
quite a bit. Its not for everyody, for that reason. It requires
    alot more time.
And another downside, if you look at it as a downside, is the
sounds are so good, i noticed for instance, my Trilogy (bass virt.instrument)
doesnt sound quite as real next to these drums.
They are very raw, and powerful.

I havent seen any other drum library that nearly as hardcore and
dead on as Superior. Its rediculously good.
Plus, on top of the drums, you get a huge library of excellent
percusion samples, that cover pretty much every standard
perc sound. So you can cross the 24 bit Perc Lib off of your list too.

I think it's like anything else - you can get started pretty quickly, but to really do it up right, you'll need to spend some time tweaking. I think it's good to treat dfh-SUPERIOR like any "live" recording session. I use my UAD-1 plugs on dfh-S and it sounds great...!
