    Logic 7 Announced

Logic Users will be happy to know that Logic Pro 7 has just been announced. Seems like quite a version update with more features and add-ons.

    Information can be found here:

    http://www.apple.com/logic/

I was advised by Logic/Emagic that some of the problems in Logic, most notably the resetting of controllers, would be fixed in this version. Perhaps someone who upgrades to Version 7 can let us know as this will be a benefit to GPO Users.

    Re: Logic 7 Announced

    UPDATE:

There are indications that NI products are having problems with Logic 7. What I heard was that Logic 7 now scans AU's like Digital Performer does, but that NI products aren't passing the new, more stringent Audio Units validation tool. However, I heard that you may be able to run the NI plugins anyway despite the the validation failure.

I cannot confirm or find out more information as it is the weekend. I have some calls into Apple and NI and will let you know what I find out as soon as I know.

Unix Guru, Dewdman, Aaron & Sagreen - sorry your posts were lost in cyberspace as I tried to move this thread. Please repost.

The new controller assignment support looks promising. http://www.apple.com/logic/productivity.html

PS: Would anyone like to help out with a tutorial for Using GPO with Logic?

    Re: Logic 7 Announced

This is the output I got when I ran the AU validation tool on GPO so I am thinking that GPO will be OK in logic 7 though I will not know for sure till my logic 7 update comes. I will keep you posted.

    Re: Logic 7 Announced

I just heard from Native Instruments. There were some issues with some products, but they have been addressed according to NI. I have been assured that the new GPO Update (hopefully available next week) should work just fine with Logic 7.

Thumbs up Re: Logic 7 Announced

UPDATE: I was further apprised that all of NI's products should validate by the time Logic 7 is released. Assurance testing is being done now tto see if there are any other issues. Updates will be available for download. Kudos to NI for being diligent and working hard to assure compatibility with the new Logic 7.

This is a valuable thread. Unix thanks for taking the time to follow through the testing and thanks Gary for posting this. I've been looking into getting Logic 7 and have had to hold off until these issues can be ironed out.

    Re: Logic 7 Announced

UPDATE: It seems the new GPO Player is validating in Logic 7, however when the options or preference menu is selected there may be a failure. Can someone verify this? NI and Apple are working to correct this problem.

    Re: Logic 7 Announced

My Logic Pro 7 upgrade came today (yes it is worth the money) and GPO 1.0.2 seems to work fine in it, no problems yet.
