Tell us, Ned - which new features do you find the most useful?

Did Apple start to clean up the UI yet, you know, things that would lessen the learning curve?

I was impressed with Logic (but was lucky enough to have migrated to a different platform prior to the Apple acquisition, which left the Windows guys flapping in the breeze). It seemed to be a pretty powerful app and nicely done.

I've also enjoyed Sound Diver, which unfortunately met with a similar fate. However, the more I move to samples, the less of an issue that becomes.

    -Sculpture audio instrument

    -Ultrabeat audio instrument

    -Ringshifter plug-in

    -Guitar Amp Pro plug-in

    -Match EQ plug-in

    -Pitch correction plug-in

    -Apple loops support

-Bounce regions (the selected ones, the ones in an specific track or all of them)

-New bounce window: burn to cd, import directly to iTunes and so on (and is accessible from the File menu, too)

    -Channel strip load and save

-New trim mouse pointer which appears automatically when you are at the end/beggining of a region in Arrange

-Garageband style loop function in Arrange

    -Multiple undo in Sample edit

    -Waveburner OS X

-Lots of IRs, Apple Loops and Channel strips settings

    -Software instrument layering

-New look, Apple style (the preferences panel, for example)

    -Create multiple tracks in arrange

    -Auto-sizing channel strip in arrange

-Faster boot time and faster Auto-relaunch in Audio Hardware

-Drag and Drop of zones in the EXS

As to whether it's easier to use in terms of GUI, I don't know. It's still looks a lot like the old version of Logic. Anyhow, as a 10-year user, I'm the wrong guy to ask!

    Ned,

I second that. No problems with Logic 7 and GPO whatsoever. GPO even passes the AU Validation tool right off the bat. And yes, no more mod wheel reset to zero.

Logic 7 still resetting Mod wheel to zero...

Unfortunately GPO still resets to zero for me whenever playback stops. I'm using the latest versions of GPO and Logic Pro 7.

I have unchecked the preference boxes in Preferences/Audio/Reset
    and Preferences/Midi/Reset Messages
so that nothing should be sending a reset message to the mod wheel.

If I just open GPO, set the mod wheel in the middle position and don't touch it,
I can record a track fine without the mod wheel resetting upon stopping.
But as soon as I enter any mod wheel data into the track,
it will reset to zero when playback stops.

I don't use DP much, but I tried GPO in DP4 and this problem does not happen.

I've poked around the Song Settings menus and the other global preferences, but have not found a solution.

    Am I missing something???

    Thanks,
    Charles

See Preferences/ MIDI/ Reset Messages, and make sure that Control 1 Reset to Zero is not checked.
