    ***Advertisments***
Bush's approval rating has dropped to 47%. This rating is considered the measuring stick by which encumbents are re-elected. Anything below 50% is considered very bad news.

Of course, since Bush was never really elected in the first place, maybe there's hope for you conservos in the crowd....

Here's a poll question for you:

    1. Knowing what you know about the 2000 elections, what method of fraud do you think the Republicans will you THIS time?

I don't know, but I know what they'll do to ensure they get in for the next couple of decades if they win: appoint more dung beetles to the Supreme Court.

My sister-in-law is a teacher, and says that "No Child Left Behind" is grossly underfunded and a joke. But she's surrounded by ignorant conservative rural people that are voting for Bush. We're talking about the battleground state of Michigan, where even educated people are brainwashed. Pretty sad.

Wait a minute. Your sister-in-law is a teacher and she doesn't know what Roe v. Wade is? How'd she get her degree?

And don't feel so bad, the polls in Michigan show Kerry leading 50% to 46%. Still within the margin of error, but it's not even close to a slamdunk for Bush.

Since Rob is very interested in getting his digs in, let me chime in with some facts:

See if you can find the documentary "Unprecedented", which goes into the Florida election count in detail. There seems to be another story to this that went largely unreported in this country. It's not as simple as any of those news reports make it seem.

Sorry, Eric, we can argue the results of the newspaper recounts until we're blue in the face -- most of the scenarios showed Gore winning -- but that's beside the point.

There's absolutely no disproving the fact that Jeb Bush and Kathryn Harris conspired with a right wing company (to whom they paid a couple million bucks for a job that normally costs a few thousand) to purge "felons" from the Florida voting roles. Turns out they purged 90,000 felons. Quite a crime wave they've got there in Florida, eh?

Only it turns out that the vast majority of those purged (something like 90%) turned out NOT to be felons, but oops, they didn't get to vote in the 2000 election.

Not only were they not felons, they WERE primarly democrats and primarily BLACK democrats. The vote for Gore among Blacks was also about 90%.

This, of course, has been widely reported around the world after an investigation by a BBC reporter who has proof of it all.

And guess what? They tried to do it again just this year.

So you can count all the hanging chads you want, Eric, but Jeb Bush stole this election for his brother. There are no ifs ands or buts about it. And I don't care how old it is, it's STILL a crime.

I blame Gore's loss on Buchanan's ability to "get out the Jewish vote" in Florida.

Sure. On November 11, AFTER the election, Republicans organized their people overseas and near military bases to strongly encourage soliders who had registered to vote, but hadn't bothered to do it, to fill out those ballots and send them in. All illegal at this point, of course, but that doesn't seem to matter much to the Bush crowd.

This effort was spearheaded by Warren Tompkins, the same guy who headed the smear campaign against John McCain. They examined computerized voter registration records and targeted the Republican soldiers. The plan was to worry about the postmarks later, knowing that the Democrats would look bad if they challenged them -- and guess what? They were right.

    Got anything else?

Allowing the late military votes was a huge mistake: it cost the Democrats the election. I still don't see why they did it. They might have looked bad, but they would have been following the law, and common sense should have told them that the demand smelled funny.

But who would have thought it--Republicans trying to circumvent the law?
