Animating a reverb?
I've been playing with ways to animate and shape the sound of a piano reverb beyond the settings in most reverbs, and have gotten some good effects by:
--adding a delayed flanger at a slow rate, so the sampled note stops sounding, and the flanger only affects the verb
--doing the same thing with filters that shift their frequency over time.
Are there other ways that people use to give the reverb more life and movement? (Not looking for a "realistic" verb.)
Re: Animating a reverb?
If you use a DAW which can apply automated effects envelopes to audio tracks, try recording the reverb to it's own audio tracks. Then you can shred with precision.
