    Polyphony in GS3?

What kind of polyphony are you peeps getting in GS3? Say with a P4 2.8 and a 7200rpm SATA drive (or whatever your config is).

Just curious as to what i can expect.

    thanks!

    John,

Check out this thread. Some users are reporting over 400 simultaneous voices, depending on configuration.

On my 'lowly' PIV 2.4ghz w/1 gig ram and 7200 rpm drives, I've seen over three hundred voices (tested with a piano lib by banging on the keyboard with the sustain pedal depressed.) Wouldn't want to push it to far, though, and as Bruce has mentioned it is important to set an appropriate polyphony limit in the GS system settings so that Gigastudio's note stealing function can work properly.

    Hope this helps.

you can easily get up to 600 mono 16bit voices with the right hd drives with a 3ghz p4 and the right mobo correctly configured.

    on Athlon 2500XP, 2GB 333mhz ram, nForce2 chipset, 250GB 8Mb 7200 HDD and RME Multiface.
340 stereo Polyphony with 1.5ms latency settings.
400 stereo polyphony with 3 ms latency settings.
and the limit is 400 with higher buffer settings as well

I tweak my system according to www.musicxp.net

On a PIV/2.4 with 1GB of RAM, I'm pushing 400 voices using 5 ATA133 drives (not in a RAID config).
