Assignable slider with dry instruments post update

I looked through posts about problems with the update and I don't think this has been covered.

I downloaded and installed the update for the Kontakt player and Studio. I did not download the X-Custom update.

However, the assignable slider has to be at 100% for anything to function. That is, when I load an instrument from the dry folder, I have to manually move the slider for each and every CC to be able to adjust it, otherwise nothing responds. This is extremely tedious and slow when I want to load a lot of instruments at once. As far as I can tell, my instruments are behaving like X-Custom instruments even though I am using dry ones, and didn't even download the X-Custom addition and X-Custom instruments do not show up in Studio.

I am running Windows XP, SP 2.

Is there anything I can do about this?

    Thanks for any help.

This doesn't sound right at all. You may want to reinstall the library.

That was an inhumanly quick reply !

Does that mean I need to reinstall the whole thing off the CDs or can I just run the updates again?

Just the updates. I'd try that first. What you're experiencing isn't normal.
