Silent Night Brass Quintet-New GPO brass-add vibrato

    http://davemorehead.com/Silent_Night.mp3

I just upgraded to the newest version of GPO last night! WOW!!!! It looks and sounds great!

This was a little experiment to try and get the "dialed in" vibrato to sound realistic on the solo trumpet 1 patch. It's closer than I thought it would be but I still have some more work to do. It's nice to know you can use vibrato on any of the non-vibrato instruments! This opens up tons of expressive possibilities!

The new update is wonderful! Many thanks to Gary and his team of programming geniuses!

    Dave,

You can edit your post with this and it will take care of the spaces problems so that people can click the link here:

Basically, you just substitute %20 for spaces in the url.

Nice piece, man. Makes me wanna go sleighriding!

Good to know Christopher. Thank you.

I made it even easier. I cut and pasted the Url symbol this site added to the end of the file name. Now the link works fine.

That was great!! Now if you could just get Tom Waits to sing it!!

    The trumpet sounds killer!

(BTW there seems to be about 2 minutes of dead air at the end of the file!!??)

I thought I cut that off. I may not have overwritten the "dead air" file on my webspace. Thanks for pointing that out. I will check into it tomorrow. Too tired to deal with it tonight.

    Dave,

I liked your arrangement. You did justice to the new updates - especially the the vibrato control. That last trumpet riff is full of soul .

I hope this can be added to the holiday CD.

    Very nice!

Thumbs up Re: Silent Night Brass Quintet-New GPO brass-add vibrato

I'm listening to this over and over and trying to figure out what I am hearing in the low register arpeggio Trombones, tuba? It sounds dissonant to me. Other than this weird encounter, the trumpets sound awesome and I like the arrangement.
Someone either confirm or set me straight on this. It could be me, I'm suffering from a bit of a respiratory problem and my ears are kind of plugged, seriously.
