    Akai translation advice

    Hi everybody

this is my first post, but I have been lurking for a while and find this forum very valuable. I'm a home recording songwriter.

I use Halion (still version 1, soon being upgraded to version 3) for my sample needs.

    I picked up 4 Xsample cd's on a clearance, I got them for about 40 $ each.

Vol. 6 is in Akai S2000 format. I expect it to work like a charm with the newest Halion (I think they fixed Akai import with Halion 2.02 version or something).

Vol 10, 11 and 12 (Woodwinds II and Solo Strings II) are in S5000 format. Now, here I am quite unsure: I understand that Halion does NOT read S5000, which is bad. I thought that I might purchase a translator, but I wonder if the result would demand a lot of manual tweaking, as these cd's have a lot of controller programs.

At the shop they told me, they would take the cd's back if the Halion import didn't work out, so I really don't know what to do. Any advice?

    Thank you in advance, Leonard
