How Do I use 2 Computers

For all those out there using multiple computers to do orchestral sequencing: I am really a beginner. But I'm ready to add a 2nd computer to my system. I use Cubase and Kontakt. What software do I need for my 2nd computer and what kind of sound cards do I need?

Do a search for this on the forum, I think there are many threads dedicated to various aspects of multiple computers. You can use FX-Teleport or V-Stack to network them. They are different ways of dealing with the same issue. I would imagine you would need a low latency sound card on your second PC as well but I'm not sure.

    Good luck,

If you go with FX Teleport, you wont need a second sound card. You'll need a network card (or motherboard with onboard LAN) for each computer. Gigabit cards and CAT6 cable is highly recommended.

This is the most cost effective method I know of as you dont need sound or midi interfaces in your slave machines at all. If you expand beyond two computers you can get a Gigabit switch down the track.
