    Drum Controller CPU Spikes...Yikes!!

I just got a Yamaha DTXpress III Drum Module for the sole purpose of adding electronic cymbal triggers to my TrapKat drum controller (I'm a drummer). I currently have it wired directly into my Echo Layla24 Midi In for testing.

I'm noticing that the CPU usage meter on GS3 (and the Windows Task Manager Performace Tab as well) goes nuts when it is connected. This happens even when the unit is sitting dormant - and there's no logged Midi activity visible on GS's Midi Event Monitor.

Can anyone shed any light on why this might be happening?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.
