Booting for music - how about security?

    Hi

I've installed 2 WinXP's on one machine - one for family stuff and the other only for music. Now, when it comes to music I want to get rid of everything else..virus shields, firewall, Explorer, etc. but since I have a DSL connection I am a bit nervous about hacks and stuff.

So is it enough to disable the network card (I'm running an ancient P3 733) or should I - as a friend suggested- pull the plug on the router every time I am booting for music?

    Thanks in advance

    Dan

I put in place a pretty simple precaution: a switch to turn off the power to the dsl router. Though I forget to use it sometimes! Seems like disabling the nic under xp would be adequate (though don't really know ...)

Well, unpluging it will surely make your computer safe!!!

Unless you are living with a hacker and you don't know it!
