Re: Great Article About Election Fraud

I imagine that past elections and presidents have ALL had some kind of tampering, in one form or another, major or minor. What would happen to the world if there was physical proof that Bush did indeed tamper with things, or cheated. I think the world would freeze for just an instant, everything would just stop. That would be strange, but yet I have this feeling that something like that could definetly happen in my lifetime. It seems that politics keep getting dirtier and dirtier.

Here's more fuel for the fire. This is for you, Brian:

    *** MEDIA ALERT ***

    UC BERKELEY STUDY QUESTIONS

    FLORIDA E-VOTE COUNT

RESEARCH TEAM CALLS FOR IMMEDIATE INVESTIGATION

When: Thursday, November 18, 2004, 10:00 am Pacific

Where: UC Berkeley campus, Survey Research Center Conference Room—2538 Channing Way (intersection of Channing/Bowditch). Parking on Durant near Telegraph.

What: A research team at UC Berkeley will report that irregularities associated with electronic voting machines may have awarded 130,000-260,000 or more excess votes to President George W. Bush in Florida in the 2004 presidential election. The study shows an unexplained discrepancy between votes for President Bush in counties where electronic voting machines were used versus counties using traditional voting methods. Discrepancies this large or larger rarely arise by chance – the probability is less than 0.1 percent. The research team, led by Professor Michael Hout, will formally disclose results of the study at the press conference.

Re: Great Article About Election Fraud

First, I want to say I'm for "all" votes being counted..that's republican AND democrat.

But, I think some of you need to go read this..from the official democratic party webiste in Ohio:

    http://www.ohiodems.org/index.php?di...ails&id=191201

I found these to be most elightening as to the conspiricy theories:

No Ohio County used Diebold Electronic Voting Machines (See Press Release Below)
Ohio did not use modern electronic voting machines in this election. Six counties use an older form of electronic voting, which has a means of verifying the accuracy of the vote. In 69 Ohio Counties, punch card ballots were used.

    Cuyahoga County Vote Discrepancy
The Columbus Dispatch reported on the odd vote totals in Cuyahoga County. Here is a piece of the 11/10 story with the explanation.

Adding to the confusion, however, the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections posted voter-turnout numbers on its Web site that appeared to show at least 22 Cleveland-area communities where more people cast ballots than were registered.

The discrepancies quickly made their way through emails and onto Web sites alleging voter fraud in Ohio, said Kimberly Bartlett, the board’s community outreach specialist. Many attributed the problems to electronic voting even though Cuyahoga County still uses punch cards.

The discrepancy was caused, though, when the board’s computer attributed absentee ballots, which are printed and sorted by legislative districts, to several towns within those districts when calculating voter turnout. They were counted only once in election results, Bartlett said, meaning Kerry’s 217,638-vote victory in Cuyahoga County is unchanged.

Those calling seem to be looking for hope that Kerry actually won Ohio, she said.

"They want to believe it, but there isn’t any fraud here," Bartlett said. "People desperately want to believe, and I try to set them straight. It takes about three times before it clicks."

That's ALL any of us is asking. And despite Brian's typical childish responses, I doubt you can claim that professors at one of the most respected learning institutions in America wear tinfoil hats.

These are legitimate questions that need to be addressed by EVERYONE, not just Democrats. Though I can't stand the thought of GWB as President for another four years, I would certainly feel a whole lot better about it if I knew the vote was legitimate and that all of us were not being systematically robbed of our democracy.

Would Brian still be making jokes if the situation were reversed? I highly doubt it.

But I don't suppose I should expect much from him. He's never offered anything of substance before.

Tell you what, Brian. When you've finished reading See Jane Run and My Pet Goat, maybe you can play with the big kids.
