Topic: Gigastudio 3 gives me Conexant error!

    Angry Gigastudio 3 gives me Conexant error!

    I just installed Gigastudio 3 orchestra edition on a new computer yesterday and received the "conexant has caused an error and must close" error message when playing one of my old giga 2.54 files.

    I was very surprised about this because it is a new computer with great specs that only has Cakewalk Sonar 4, EWQLSO, and an audio/video editor on it.

    Any suggestions? I am really surprised (disappointed) to see this old familiar error message on my new system with Giga 3. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Specs on PC are:
    * Gigastudio 3 (max poly set to 200 though the music did not exceed 150)
    * 2 gigs RAM/3.2 gigahertz CPU with hyperthreading off
    * Win XP SP1
    * 74 gig Raptor HD + 120 main harddrive
    * Delta 1010LT
    * Cakewalk Sonar 4/Sibelius 3/Ulead VideoEdit/SoundForge/MS Office 2003 and I think that is all on the computer.

    A few things to try, but just guessing.

    1. Rebuild the QuickSound database

    2. Make sure you have scanned for all VST Plugins.

    3. Make a COPY of the version 2.5 .gig file,, then rename it, then pull it up in the GS3 Editor, then save in the GS3 format.

    Even though GS3 is supposed to be compatible with GS2.5 instruments, perhaps there is some parameter in that GS2.5 .gig file that GS3 is "choking" on.
