XP services and memory avail for GS

Hi !

Hope you´re all having a nice day !
Here´s my Q:

Will tweaking the services in XP (ie disabling those unnecessary for a GS-only DAW) have any effect on the available memory for GS ? (As i´ve understood things, XP takes a lot more memory for the system than w98 - but i haven´t figured out if this is the \"same type of memory\" that GS uses when loading up samples !)

Great forum btw
Thank you for taking the time !

OK - and thank you for taking the time to answer !

AFAIK the less avail mem in XP is the only drawback when using GS, and i thought that maybe some of it could be regained by disabling the most memory-hungry services running in the background.

Probably not that easy though...

Guess i´ll better try some tweaking and see what happens !
