    Wanted: Electronic Guitarist

    Hey everybody,

    I'm wondering if there exists a program that:
    -Allows you to specify chords and/or specific tab designations on fretboard;
    -Allows you to specify a metric meter and rhythm;
    -Possibly allows you to specify strumming;
    -Offers audio playback as a virtual guitar.
    -Possibly capable of including song text above/below the stave.

    Basically looking for a folksinger's/songwriter's friend- a composition program and playback engine designed specifically for guitar.

    I've always used Finale when composing for all other instruments, but I don't think that my Finale/GS3 setup is the most practical way for songwriting... could be wrong.

    Hopefully somebody has a good suggestion(s).
    Thanks.

    I haven't used it but steinbergs virtual guitarist seems pretty cool. Also, I would get a sequencer for a practical approach to vst's, midi tweaking and audio recording.

    Cheers,

    In addition to Virtual Guitarist, check out MusicLabs's Realguitar, and Revitar 2. In addition, I think Sonic Reality had an acoustic guitar sample cd that, while not as programmable, might have had some of the characteristic you are seeking.

    K-v-R is a good place to research this type of stuff.

    Hey, Brian. To me, Rush and Bach have a similar quality expressed in different ways. Hemispheres is my favorite, but 2112 is a close second.

    If you are in the mood, I also posted a new one (not on the cdbaby.com site), "Equilibrium", on my soundclick site. Here is the link: www.soundclick.com/jeffreynaness

    Do you have any of your music posted anywhere? I am curious.

    Edit: I am checking out Roasted Marshmallows on your website now.
