    Strings Test

    Hey guys,

I just had a stupid lil idea to take all the strings libraries i have and use them for a song, so i used Ultimate Strings, GPO Strings, VSL Chamber Strings, Pete Siedlaczek's Advanced Orchestra, Fluid r3 Soundfonts, (i know, *gag*), and added some VOTA choir.

How does it sound to you guys?

P.S., 1st person to tell me what this is from gets something special (in the spirit of lukpcn, :P )

    Re: Strings Test

Sam....I love this so much. It just sounds huge, majestic and magnificent. It was often a good idea to layer analogue strings with sampled ones, something I used to like doing. Again it's the variation between sounds that makes it so rich. There is a phasing, and arguably the result may not even be realistic? but I think the sound is just fabulous and would be totally a blow away in the right piece. In fact I like what you have done with this piece very much anyway.

It's great to experiment like this...what great results. In a similar vein to Johannes's new piano creation on the main Sample discussion site. He has used various components of two virtual pianos in a labour of love to come up with something really special.

Thanks a lot for that...you can tell I really enjoyed this...Vangelis would have given his right arm for this sound.....I'm sure....or even Enya!

PS Please continue this piece and build it into a complete work.

My apologies Sam, or perhaps not as I assumed the compo was yours. Still nice even if it was used in LOTR! I wonder what it would be like if you brought in the church organ near the end....sensory overkill?
