Question Golden Ears: Guess the Sounds

    Hi Gang,

I thought I'd post a tune or two from recent projects, and give people a chance to show off their eagle ears.

This one should be pretty easy, it is simple and sparsely constructed.

    Have fun,
    Bruce

    Just some wild guesses...

    Guitar, VSL Concert Guitar
    Percussion, VSL Mallets/Percussion
Not sure about the piano, maybe the White Grand?
    Drums, Scarbee?
    Bass, Scarbee?

    Hi y'all. Can I play?

    VSL Concert Guitar
    VSL Mallety/Stoney stuff
    Trilogy Acoustic Bass
    Post Yamaha C7
    Drums...dunno
Touch of RMX in the backgound.

    Nice tune.

Re: Golden Ears: Guess the Sounds

    Here's my guess:

    VSL acoustic guitar
    VSL wine glass/bowl
    VSL vibes tremolo
Scarbee Rhodes (sounds like there's something rhodeish doubling the acoustic guitar)
Larry Seyer Acoustic Bass & Drums (the trilogy bass is a bit off tuning-wise)
Don't know where the percussion (Shaker + triangle) is from
Top register of the piano sounds like the GS3 Gigapiano2,
but the rest of its lower range is too mellow.. Black Grand?
Organ sounds like some Post stuff.

Re: Golden Ears: Guess the Sounds

I will base my guess on your earlier post:

VSL Horizon Acoustic Guitar is a fave right now. It sounds so great on rhythm section parts, such a nice perfect room setting and very intimate.
Larry Seyer Acoustic Drums are really fun, and are unbelievably expressive and perfect sounding.
Black Grand, ambient version, is a great jazz piano.
Notre Dame de Budapest Organ Samples are KILLER.
    Reaktor, always.
    Scarbee Rhodes and Wurlie...sweet.
    Anything VSL
    Sonic Implants Brass
Dan Dean Woodwinds, combined with GigaPulse.
Giga 3.0 and Gigapulse...just loving it.
Guitar - VSL Horizon Acoustic Guitar
    Piano - Black Grand
Drums - Larry Seyer Acoustic Drums
    Organ - NDDB
Other - VSL Glass and Stones
All using GIGA 3 and GigaPulse

Was I close, even though I don't have "golden ears"?

Re: Golden Ears: Guess the Sounds

    Pretty good so far...

    What's right:

    VSL Horizon Series Acoustic Guitar
VSL Musical Glasses, Bowed Vibraphone, Small Bells, Triangle, Waterphone, Kiwi shaker, Gongs, Flexatone, Glass Harmonica
    Sampletekk Black Grand
Larry Seyer Acoustic Bass--1st Position Upright Bass
Larry Seyer Acoustic Drums--2CH Loose Garage Stick

    What's not:

    There's no organ
    There's no Rhodes
