"Trio #01" for flute, oboe and bassoon

    All,

This is my miniature "Trio #01" for flute, oboe and bassoon.

    The GPO instruments are:

    Flute Solo V
    Oboe 1 Modern Solo
    Bassoon 1 Solo

I gave a real workout to the bassoon. I enjoy writing for bassoon because it's such a versatile instrument with a large range and a "cool" sound.

    My best to all,

    Larry A.

    Thank you.

I think that I have posted way too many of my woodwind pieces to this forum. I will now give equal time to the other sections of the orchestra.

    Regards,

    Larry A.

Thumbs up Re: "Trio #01" for flute, oboe and bassoon

OK, I am ready for a courtyard feast complete with Jesters, maidens, and the roasted pig with the apple and all the trimmings! MORE WINE!
What a nice piece! You really do some awesome work with the woodwinds sir. Thanks for sharing and tell Sir Robin we'll be on time for the festival!

    Thank you very much, Styxx.

You know...for a drummer, you are one nice dude!

Just kidding (click) just kidding (click) just kidding...

Forget the jesters and roasted pig. Bring on more maidens!

    Larry,
This is very cool. Excellent counterpoint. And I really like the rhythmic indirection of the melody...it keeps the piece moving all the way through so that it doesn't settle until the last note. Very fine.

Thank you, Mr. Bill. Danged if you don't have excellent taste!

But seriously, I really appreciate your inspiring comments.

    Sincerefully yours,

I enjoyed this one too, of course! You are the woodwind master! And a counterpoint master too, I would say! Thanks for sharing your talents.

Fred, You're compositions are generally excellent but this one sounds realistic as well! I love counterpoint and you certainly do it justice. I'm still not convinced that you're not very Er....talented!
