    OEM software...reliable

Advertises OEM software at very discounted prices. Normally I'd be sceptical but their FAQ section really seems 100% fail-safe with 60-day try period and serial numbers, etc.

Has anyone tried this company before?

    Marty,

Don't buy from this or other companies that offer products like these, you would be supporting the worst type of piracy!

These are companies making money by selling pirated software, it is not legit at all. There is no such thing as an OEM Photoshop or Flash Mx, there never has been.

If you get anything, it will be a disk with a very fake looking label containing software with possible viruses on it which you can't legally register or upgrade.

Whenever something sounds too good to be true, well....I'll let you figure out the rest!

Hey midphas... Thanks for letting everyone know. I'll take your word for it cuz I'm not up on that issue, but do you know how they would continue to get away with that if it's how you say it is?

Another tale-tell sign would be the fact that it states in the FAQ that you can't register the software. If it was legit, the manufacturer would honor support on the software and would allow you to register.

Joseph, I noticed that as well. Then they go onto say that their personal website will offer support. SO next thing I did was look for their support area and I wasn't finding much.

OK. Thanks for the advice. I'll steer clear of them.

Actually it IS possible to get legitimate OEM software, like Windows XP. But in order to sell you that software, the vendors are required to sell it along with a piece of hardware.

Argh.. I hate those sites. I get spam mail from time to time from places like that. "MS OFFICE 2003 PRO - $80!!!!" OEM software my ~~~... it isn't OEM, it's OPS (Original Pirate Supplier). Yes, there is legit OEM software for sale, but this isn't it. I landed an OEM copy of Nero 6 for $8 or so..great deal.

I already reported these fools to Microsoft and Macromedia a few weeks ago. Apparently they don't care too much because the site is still up.

    Dan,

Most of these companies are based abroad, generally in Eastern Europe and former Soviet Union countries where upholding copyright law falls somewhere below making sure that the local drunk is not singing too loudly.

Oddly enough, recently there was a case on the news where a father and son team that was selling pirated software (I want to say in the Netherlands, but I could be wrong) was successfully prosecuted and sent to jail. Given the fly by night style of operations that these guys run, it is very difficult for them to get in trouble....best way to put them out of business is to not buy their stuff!
