    "Bounce" button in 1.5.3 Kontakt

    All,

Does anyone know the purpose and function of the "Bounce" button in the full version of Kontakt and how to use it? There is no mention of it in the manual because it was added after the manual was printed.

    Thanks,

The Bounce button is to improve the quality of the rendering. This is the stage when Kontakt's output is captured into an audio file (Sonar calls this "bouncing).

If you have a heavy weight sample set like a dense piano piece or a cymbol ride.

What happens is that the audio engine runs faster than real time and the limit on polyphone it reached and the results are clipped samples. Bounce prevents this.

Thanks very much. That is what I needed to know.

Actually my Sonar 3 calls this process "export audio". (?)

Yes, use it for Export Audio as well.

If your CPU load is up and you need to add more tracks, you can use this in Sonar: Edit > Bounce to Tracks to capture the audio, this frees the CPU load used by Kontakt.

    It's useful for both applications.

It's always good to hear from someone who knows what the heck he is talking about.

Thanks very much for your help and for the information.

Kontakt bounce doesn't work properly with EWQLSO.

    Here is what I know.

I use Sonar 3 and Garritan Personal Orchestra. The bounce feature seems to work properly with my setup.
