    Bass-Clarinet
    2 Bassoons

    4 French Horns
    3 Trumpets
    2 Trombones

    Timpani
    Bass-drum
    Glockenspiel
    Triangle
    Tubular Bells

    Harp
    Organ

    Strings

    LISTEN!

Btw. you can also listen to my old arrangement which I did last year (2003) to compare. Listen to old version!

All comments are as always appreciated!

I wish you all merry Christmas!
    Sincerely,

Truly beautiful Flacon....you did just enough to establish your own personality on this lovely old carol.....A superb arrangement!

    Thanks

    Thanks Frank!

Yea, I didn't want to go overboard in re-harmonization so it's quite plain but I color it with the orchestration which is quite romantic which suites the carol well I think. The main goal was to stay true to the tune and to the content of the text. You should be able to read the text and find out why I did this or that in the arrangement.

Of course the 2nd goal was to arrange it my way, that's not the same as someone else. Hope that I managed that too.

Btw. Do you all like the Reverb and the mix?
    Sincerely,
    Falcon1

Well, actually I use rebar in my cement mix...wait, I thought I was on the roadworkers forum of upstate New York and thought I was replying to Jack Hammers' post, sorry.
Oh, yeah the reverb in your mix. Well, hmmmm let me hear it again.

Dang that's one nice arrangement! No, I would say the reverb was just right for my taste. Didn't muddle up any of the instruments clarity and wasn't over verby! (Like that, "Verby"?) Coined a new phrase here, under verby or over verby! No, OK then !

    Outstanding Falcon,

Just listen to both of your arrangements back-2-back (the old one first). What a difference a year makes!

You not only have the ability to conjure-up so many different orchestral textures, you can glide between them so gracefully.

Very inspiring - both as a listener and as a fellow arranger.

    Goodness-me - what's the 2005 version going to like?
As in music - so in life!

    Falcon1,

This is beautiful and bold! Excellent arrangment and well orchestration. You never cease to amaze. I hope this can be on next years' Holiday CD.

Thanks for posting this inspired rendition.

    Thanks Gary!

Yes, of course I'll allowe you to use it on next years Holiday CD.

Maybe next year I will have some of my stuff performed live, I at least hope to be able to hear my stuff live next year (2005). It's my aim for the next year.

Addition: I'm getting keyboard today which will hopefully arrive before next Friday session, finally I'll have a keyboard to do the modulation stuff and such. eheheh...
    Sincerely,
    Falcon1
