I agree in everything you said! The legatos and expressiveness phrases really sounds pretty good, and with almost no time consuming.
But i did that small passage just to listen how Synful would sound when used in a "long-notes" situation...It was like a challenge to Synful...
Best !
The beta demo on the site sounds oddly like a Bernard Hermann recording. There something about the quality which sounds nostalgic. The expression seems to be there, and very good; the note to note transitions seem to be the weakest point. But, all in all, pretty expressive tone.

Hey!
I had a bit more of time to spend with Synful...It´s a lots of fun! I wanted listen synful in "tuttis" with percussion instruments. So i did this piece to try it...All the instruments are from Synful, less percusions, harp and Tuba that are from my old Advanced Orchestra... It sounds pretty good to me, because the transitions between the notes...And i like the "nostalgic "tone synful has...
Sincerely i need to say that Synful is a great ideia...concept....![]()

That sounds great, Jaques - thanks for posting it. I have a feeling Synful could work very well layered with a sample-based library. Like you say, the note transitions is where it really shines but sometimes the tone is a bit lacking. Layering with a sampled library might give you the best of both worlds.

I'm sorry I couldn't hear your next piece. Couldn't get to the page. Yes, I really like the nostalgic tone of synful, too, and it might work very well layered with other libraries.

EDIT: I was just now able to download both your pieces. Very nice. And now I can hear the transitions better, which sounds impressive. I really am liking that tone, too.
Jacques - REALLY like the secret forest. Fantastic! You really demonstrate the note transitions well and it's a nice piece of music to boot. I'm working on a little orchestral things as well and find that it sounds like a real live orchestra. Like one from Pluto to be fair (i.e. the tone is sometimes a bit weird) but it feels real. Sometimes the transitions are a bit sine-wavy as well, especially if you do thirds and forths in a sequence. The finger wouldn't slide up the fingerboard like that, but even so, they feel alive. I also layered some Silver cellos with the synful cellos (the tone of the synful cellos as lower notes is pretty awful still) and it worked really well. Sounded like a lush cello section that I've only heard real players ever achieve.
Of course, when I soloed the Silver cellos, they sounded like crap. Like a honking accordion - no phrasing at all and of course no breathing. But as the other poster said, mixing them seems to achieve the best of both worlds.
Please keep these user demos coming. In the middle of rebuilding my new Daw - can't try the demos yet. Really be interested how this blends with VSL PE. Anyone try this?
(the 'secret forest' is really nice cue - but what is it about the 'tone' of the strings that is bugging me - can't put describe it. Still it would be nice to hear this cue or some other with VSL or SISS, etc. doubled with it.)

Only just came across this, listened to the first orchestral demo, and didn't think much of the realism...
then I listened to the Beethoven http://www.synful.com/Sounds/Synful_...en_Quartet.mp3
and... WOW, that's amazing! (also the Rite w/w's!!)
will have to seriously consider this...

I too was quite impressed by the beethoven (though there was a suspicion that the viola and cello were rather muddier than the violin) and downloaded the demo. Have to say that the concept is ingenious and works quite well and this product could be useful for quick rendering of compositions. Problem is though that this is priced at the level of a serious sample library and in this respect the sound quality in general is simply not good enough to compete in my opinion.
