    Piece Written for Competition

    Okay,

Not my first post in here, but I've finally gotten a place to put music and hope the link works.

If it does, here's the scoop... The piece is called American Gallery and was written for the GPO competition (finished literally 4 days before the due date (phew!)). I wrote it using all GPO instruments and the Overture SE version. Ideas? Suggestions? Please help! Hopefully this link actually works!

    Thanks!

Okay, that didn't work! Sorry... How do I make the link able to click on and have it go to the site?? Darn!

    Tim,
When I tried your link, it unexpectedly took me to http://www.soundclick.com/bands/4/timcohen.htm.

Well, from there, I tried the link on that page, 'Music' (http://www.soundclick.com/bands/4/timcohenmusic.htm), and I saw 3 choices to get at your song: Lo-fi, Hi-fi, and Mp3.

Unfortunately, both the Hi-fi and Lo-fi links will not play any music, although in Windows, my Media Player will auto-open and tell me that your music is loaded and that is indeed playing...yet there is no sound coming forth and the progress bar remains stagnant.

Finally, when I try the 'Mp3' choice, it takes me to a SoundClick sign-up form. I don't think I am ready to join SoundClick, yet.

...Just FYI since you tried so hard to post your music.

Potential listeners should be able to click on ONE link and have your music start "streaming".

With all due respect, the path to your composition is too complicated, round-about and time consuming. See if you can determine an easier way to do it.

    Regards,

    Larry A.

Thanks for the heads up... I am obviously a little challenged on this issue. I will keep chipping away...

    Thanks again!

Tim, what a nice piece! The mixing and everything is really nice.
I only have one rcommendation though. Some of the dynamics (mod wheel data) are real choppy, I can actually hear steps of volume dropping in the Clarinet especially. The piece is so nice and worthy of taking the time to go back and smooth out these dynamics. You are definately a talented writer/arranger!!!
    I love it! WOW

Tim, its inherit in Soundclick. I don't think there 'is' a way around users having to go to this page and then that page and then clicking on the audio button of their choice.

Anyway, since I'm at work I thought I'd give it a listen... And I get this...

DUE TO YOUR COMPANIES HITLERESQUE FIREWALL - DENIED- HA HA HA - STOP CLICKING ON THE LINKS WE AREN'T GOING TO LET YOU DO THAT.

Thanks to all for the input and DPDan for making it easier for others to hear. Sooner or later I'll get this internet stuff figured out and hopefully be able to post more.

Also DPDan, you are absolutely right about the mod wheel! I'm using a Kurzweil K1200 with a Motu interface and this is a constant problem. there are times when I cannot even get the Mod Wheel to work and have to constantly restart the computer until it does. Any ideas as to how to iron out the sound? Thanks again very much for your help!

    Tim
