Question Ok, anybody know the source of Jam pack 4 "Symphony Orchestra"?

    It's 10GB....or 6GB, the web page says both (!) and costs $99.

Opus or Gold it probably ain't...but where oh where did the sounds come from?

But, maybe I'll wait for a Group Buy hehe

I was wondering the same thing, I don't see much info on it, it seems to have loops and instruments.

Here is the blurb on the website:

With the newest member of the Jam Pack family you can conduct your own orchestra with new sounds for GarageBand, Logic, and Soundtrack. Create lush symphonic music with this collection of software instruments and loops, including strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion, piano, and more. From classical compositions to Hollywood-style scores to rock and hip-hop textures, with Jam Pack 4: Symphony Orchestra, you are the conductor.

    "Jam Pack 4: Symphony Orchestra

GarageBand 2's debut as part of iLife '05 at Macworld Expo will be complemented by a new GarageBand Jam Pack that will work exclusively with the new version. Jam Pack 4, code-named Hermann (as noted in our iLife '05 story), will be called Symphony Orchestra and will include 2,000 new Apple Loops and 30 new orchestral instruments, ranging from brass to percussion to pianos.

Like all Jam Packs, number 4 will be compatible with Logic Express 7 and Logic Pro 7, along with GarageBand 2.

Anyone tried it yet? I have the Jam pack 1 and 2 and have been impressed with it for what it is. Some of the instruments are pretty impressive. I like the electric piano instrument. Sounds as good as my EVP VST.

    Cheers,

What i really would like to know, is where do the sounds come from? Apple must have sourced them from a Sample producer! But the really interesting bit is the loops....2,000 of them - that is material that must have been freshly put together, I think.

Apple never credits third parties for these kinds of things, unfortunately.
