    PMI Old Lady- Bad Samples???

I love the sound of the Old Lady overall but I've found a few samples that are driving me nuts that renders it unusable in certain situations.

I have all the updates but these don't seem to be fixed unless I've screwed something up (which is always possible )

    Anyway, here they are:

B-flat (2) and B (2) at 70 velocity when pedal is down sounds very weird- the note timbre just shifts after the attack and the note mutes quite a bit

D (6) at 100 velocity, pedal up sounds very harsh and distorted.

Both of these are on the GS3 24 bit Gig file.

Anyone heard this?? Is there a fix?? Thanks in advance!!

Fred (still loving the piano, BTW)

    hey Fred.

there's an update .art file for the Old Lady in GS 3 format.
    Check it out at www.postpiano.com
It fixes the D and upper F notes..i think it's F6 pedal down.
    I haven't notice the B2 problem though..
By the way , how do we apply an .art file??
I haven't seen that in the manual..maybe i missed something??
    Any help would be welcomed!

    thanks

I installed the update and it fixed the F but the D still seems to be bad. Maybe I should do it again...

There's a FAQ about the .art files on the PMI website. Basically, you open GigaEditor and load the 24 Bit .gig file. Under the file menu you select "load articulation file" and open the update .art file. Then you save the .gig file and your done. Or at least, that's what I did. If that's wrong, someone please pipe up!!

Re: PMI Old Lady- Bad Samples???

I've updated the Old Lady piano with the .art file on postpiano website.
Like you Fred , this update seems to fix the F6 problem with pedal down but doesn't do anything regarding the distorted samples on D5 and C#5 (or 4..not sure)
Any one else with this issue??

Re: PMI Old Lady- Bad Samples???

I made an MP3 with the bad sounds today and forgot to bring it home so I could post it. Hopefully I will tomorrow.

The D (and neighbor C#) is pretty weird- it tilts toward the right heavily until you hit full 127 when it seems to play a normal full velocity sample panned properly. I'm suprised more peopla haven't noticed these. If they can be fixed, beyond that the piano is bug-free as far as I can tell. The B sample makes me want to claw my eyes out- the rest of the piano is so pretty it's like a paisley necktie on the Mona Lisa

Yes, D (6) and also C# (6) sound weird and they are more on the right side in the stereo panorama than the other notes.

But overall: I love the Old lady, too!

Re: PMI Old Lady- Bad Samples???

Sorry guys, I missed this topic (leaving for NAMM show today) and tried to confirm these samples here but my system is down at this moment caused by typical IT problems (conflicting stuff).
Will post an update as soon as I'm back from LA.

Re: PMI Old Lady- Bad Samples???

However the editor worked so here is a temperory fix:
OLD LADY GS3 update #3 Will post a final update to our database as soon as I'm back from Annaheim.

The B and B-flat has been fixed in all presets. The high D6 I'm not sure it's so disturbing. Or rather the fix could be worse...So in the fiurst preset (old lady G3) it has been fixed, and in all others I left it as it was.

Please let me know what you think and I'll finalize this next week. Thanks.
    Best regards,

I have noticed this issue in GS2 with D5. Otherwise, this is a sweet singing piano !
