    Ah, true enough Charles. But it is old news, of course, as every power, especially every big power, has had its propaganda machine.

    I guess the "news" to some may be that the US is in this respect no different than any other great power, the former USSR and Germany included. It's hardly even ironic that the more Republican Right the flavour of the current regime becomes (read "the more bigotted, reactionary, fascist, homophobic, and masogynist") the less real freedom of expression Americans enjoy and the more they begin to look like like the enemy.

    Scary, when the enemy is everywhere in your midst.

    CNN, the worlds most recognized news broadcast which is piped into every nook & cranny of the entire globe, always has warm & fuzzy things to say about Republicans and Bush.

    Christiana Ammanpour is on right now just "glowing" over president Bush with her coverage of the inaugural ceremonies.

    Uh-huh.
