I've got a Linux partition set up, but haven't had much time to play with it.

Just curious, how are you running GPO? (Wine?)

    Cool!

I've been wanting to explore the musical possiblilites of Linux. My problem is, I'm a programmer by day, so when I get home I tend to want to work on music and not the techie stuff. Maybe one of these weekends

BTW, which distro are you running and what hardware?

The thing ive noticed is that the way Linux handles its hardware, theres little to NO latency between...well..anything! applying VST effects is almost instantaneous..interesting, eh?

Knowing how Linux is constructed, it's not suprising. I've believed for a long time it would be a much better platform for music (at least better than Windows) if/when the desktop catches up -- which I think it will soon.

Thanks, Sam. I may be back to pick your brain later.

I have a couple of servers at work - I set up the first one on the sly back in 95. My workstation at home is duel boot to Linux but I use Windows 99% of the time. That's were all my software is.
