Why are FAZIOLI piano sample libraries so rare?

Would be interessting to hear a sampled FAZIOLI, Modell F308 for example.

The short answer: The piano itself is expensive and hard to find. So I suppose it's a bit harder to locate and sample then, say, a run of the mill "Steinway".

But it is a beautiful beast (if a tad bright to my liking) !

I can't imagine those pianos sounding good close-miked, so it would have to be a hall recording (à la Michiel Post). They sound very powerful and clangorous.

But I've never tried it, so I could be wrong.

Are there actually any available? All I know of is the Roland SRX-2 expansion board. Which doesn't really satisfy me...

There are Fazioli samples in the ProMega3 from GEM.

Hi...there is one in the upcoming East West Quantum Leap Colossus library! I am looking forward to trying that one! Older libraries include the East West Ultimate Piano Collection and Alesis Classical Piano QCard (only 8 MB though). I believe William Coakley also has a Fazioli library, although haven't tried that out yet.

The Kompakt sample player also comes with one but I never used it so I don't know how good it is.

I can only dream what a fantastic library Michiel could make. Maybe he will.

I almost recorded Herbie H.'s 9' Fazioli last month!
This one has been on the top of my list for a long time. I am so in love with that impressive/robust but also precious and delicate sound....
I will record one, it's just a matter of time

I think Nick Phoenix recorded a nice one for Colossus, from what I heard this is likely to be the best sampled Fazioli at this moment.
    Best regards,
    Michiel Post

There's still the Akai format Olivier Truan sampled F228 on the old East/West Ultimate Piano:

Note the warnings about the difficulties of importing this to anything.
