GS 3 and VST Plugs and other ??????'s

I haven't gone with GS 3 as of now!!!

It seems that many are having good Luck With GS 3!!!

I would like to know anyones experience with VST plugs and GS 3!!

I'm thinking of Plugs like Guitar Rig and other Amp Sim's??

Is GS 3 as stable as GS 2.54??

Thanks for your time and HELP!!!!

Re: GS 3 and VST Plugs and other ??????'s

Speaking from my experience only, GS3 has been rock solid, ReWire rock solid, but VST support has been touch and go.

Some VST's work well but others cause GS3 to crash - badly. You'll just have to experiment with the various plug-ins to see which work or not; simply put the badly behaving ones into the ignore list.

Keep in mind that some VST's are actually VSTi's in their programming thus will not function in GS3 correctly - AFAIK.

If you can work with ReWire, you should have no problems putting amp sims after the ReWire output. This is my preferred methodology as it keeps everything in the sequencer.

    Hope this helps!

Yes, be careful with vst plugs. I would recommmend adding them one at a time, although G3 will usually tell you which ones caused the crash and will deactivate them for you.

But for those that are compatable, things work well. I've used Pristine Space, and UAD-1 plugs, and a couple of others. Works very well here.

Thumbs up Re: GS 3 and VST Plugs and other ??????'s

You might want to know that it's also possible to run DirectX plugins in GS3 if you use the FFX4 DX-to-VST Wrapper from VB-Audio:

    http://perso.wanadoo.fr/vb-audio/us/...ack/dxrack.htm

    ...the FFX4 is freeware!

Has worked with all the DX effects that I tried so far, which is a bit of a miracle to me.

In my experience quite a few VST effects do not correctly process audio when their interface window is opened. Keeping it closed but active in most cases solves the problem.

Re: GS 3 and VST Plugs and other ??????'s

Any users could share which amp modeling VSt's is stable with GS 3.04?

I'm looking into Amplitube , Izotope Trash or NI's guitar rig.

Any problems with them?? what about the amp simulator by Nomad??

    many thanks

I figure I'd bring this back up to the top instead of starting a new thread.

Has anyone tried any of the aforementioned VSt's?

Sorry I don't own any of the amp sims you mentioned, but Steinberg's Warp runs in GS3. I wanted to run SimulAnalog's GuitarSuite, but alas I think it's lack of GUI buggers up GS3.
