Sorry Styxx, I guess that I misread your post. It didn't say that you couldn't afford to go it said that you couldn't go. Big difference. I'm sorry. I hope that I didn't offend you...

Even if he could afford it, I'm sure he wouldn't mind a fund raiser.

Anyway, I'm sorry to hear it. If it makes you feel any better, Leonard Slatkin will be guest conducting my university's student orchestra . . . and I am not in the orchestra

Never feel that way please! I like the idea of a fundraiser but what kind of fund would it be?
Yes, with a large family and everyone else needing to go some where and need to be picked up here and the wife has planned us something else with her brother and his children, well ... you get the idea! And, yes, part of it is the ticket price. This percussionist isn't anyone shabby that's for sure! I believe he is now 28 years old and from the British Isles. Hardy Heern might be familiar with him. But hey, I will stop at Media Play tonight and pick up his new CD with his performance of Veni Veni Emmanuel and imagine I am there. Any one else familiar with this "New Music" piece for percussion and orchestra? It is one of the most played pieces for orchestra and solo percussion. A must have, check it out.
