Atmosphere opens in Mach 5 !!!! coolest thing ever.
Over the last couple days - the guys on yahoo/spectrasonics forum came up with a way to make atmosphere open inside Mach 5.
Turns it into a huge multi part atmoshphere.!
Many moons ago I was hoping this would be possible but Eric said NOT.
All credit for figuring this out goes to the guys in the yahoo forum. I just wanted to spread the word because the patches I have been able to create in the last few minutes are simply huge.
It's truely a Triton on mega steriods.
Eric - seriously man - please reconsider this in your products. having multi part atmospheres (plus other cool libs added in) is off the hook.
Here is a copy of the info:
I just successfully got the Atmosphere.dat file to work in Mach Five.
All I did was:
1) Create a folder in the Mach five sounds folder.
2) renamed the folder to Atmosphere.M5b
3) copied the Atmosphere.dat file into the folder
4) changed the name of the Atmosphere.dat file to Plugsound Free.dat
5) rescaned Mach Five Sounds Folder and Voila! Atmosphere is now a
All you lose is the ability to separately edit the dual-layers as you
can in the Atmospher
plugin, but what I just gained in usability far outweighs that loss.
Whoever started this thread, thanks for the idea!~ I'll be using
Atmosphere a helluva lot
more than I ever did before.
Re: Atmosphere opens in Mach 5 !!!! coolest thing ever.
Please be aware that this is very much an unsupported thing....it would be a mistake for anyone to do a lot of work that relies on this trick, as it is highly likely to break patches and songs in the future as the Mach Five gets updated. You don't have access to the layer parameters and other customizations for example and this will get worse as the Mach Five gets upgraded to newer versions....since Atmosphere/Trilogy support in Mach Five is not advertised by either Spectrasonics or MOTU.
So don't be surprised if things based on this trick change, break compatibility and stop working in the future....
Sorry to rain on the parade, but you should know what you are getting into.
