    MIDI Sequencing with Hamsters!

Levy Marcel Ingles Lorenzo, Jr. of Cornell University has built a novel MIDI device that is controlled by the movement of hamsters. The MIDI sequencer intelligently produces melodies by manipulating the musical elements of rhythm and note-choice guided by inputs based on hamster movements. The hamsters work in teams of two to control melody and rhythm, and Markov chains are used to modify the hamster-based inputs.

There is a decent sounding MP3 here

Now we just need to connect those critters to GPO.

That's insane! The sad thing is that the hamsters can create better music than I can....

Perhaps the hamsters can enter the GPO Competition next year.

Shhhh! Dont' encourage them. There's already enough competition as it is.

This was undoubtedly the result of a $500,000 research grant.

Thumbs up Re: MIDI Sequencing with Hamsters!

Shoot, I invented something just like this years ago except I didn't use hamsters I used Lemmings. It worked perfectly except the little buggers insisted on jumping off and well, you know! Needless to say I had to scrap the whole project due to the replacement cost of the Lemmings.

    Next - Midi Rinos ...

Unfortunately I can't take composer credit for it - I remember seeing it on some other audio forum somewhere, but for the life of me I can't remember where.
