Samples suddenly play 2 octaves too low

Anyone know why Giga would suddenly start playing samples 2 octaves lower than it should?

It happens during use...one minute it\'s fine, the next minute it\'s low and has to be rebooted!

My guess is that some other app is chiming in with a sound file and you\'re soundcard is automatically switching over to that sound files sample rate. ie., an \"Email Alert\" from aol might be automatically played at 11,025khz when you get a new msg, thus dragging down all your 44,100khz waves to 11khz resulting in super slow playback.

Hmmm, that\'s something to think about.
I have System Sounds turned off, but I guess there could be a sound coming in from somewhere.
    I\'ll look for that.

    Thanks!
