Congrats on the Oscar for Best Score!

Congratulations to long-time Spectrasonics customer Jan Kaczmerek for winning his first Academy Award for his beautiful Finding Neverland score!

It's great to see such a true talent recognized...especially with a sensitive score like this. Jan's work is not so well known yet, but he's one of my personal favorite film composers and an extremely cool guy too!

I highly recommend checking out his score for the film "The Third Miracle", which is one of my absolute favorite scores...really interesting film too (worth renting...):

I met Jan at one of the screenings for Finding Neverland and he came across as a very humble yet visionary composer. In many ways he is very old school which is quite refreshing to see in todays' film scene!

Congrats Jan, all the hard work has paid off!

Ah yes, I was glad he won too, he's a very nice person and it speaks in his music. I am a bit disappointment Thomas Newman is still to be recognized, but, as is life.

I agree....I'm sure in the coming years Thomas Newman will get his long overdue Oscar :-) (7 nominations and no win yet!)

I think it will be for a more interesting film though than Lemony Snicket though.... ;-)

PS. Did you know that John Williams has been nominated 43 times! That's pretty amazing....

Especially when you consider that musical genius, Mike Greene, hasn't even gotten ONE nomination!

Did you know he only won 4 times?

Can you name the films he won for?

My favorite score of the year was James Newton Howard with the Village, it stood out from an otherwise average film, but that's not what wins an oscar and Jan Kaczmerek had all of the elements coupled with a great film. Congrats to him.
