    Here's another RMX tip

This one might be kind of obvious.

    1) Load the same sound into 3 different RMX parts.
    2) Drag the midi files to the three midi tracks associated with the parts in RMX.
    3) Remove the midi notes you don't want played on each part.

This way you could (for example) keep all the kick notes on part 1.
Keep all the snare notes on part 2 and keep all the hi hat or other things on part 3.

The edit groups didnt have the choices I wanted on this particular loop.
This was the only way I could figure out to get the separation I wanted.
It's kind of a brute force approach, but it works.

You can add individual slices into an edit group, in order to build your own custom group.

I believe the video you get from the website tells you how to do this... Either that, or there was a post here describing it as well.

    Thanks,
I told you it was a brute-force approach

I couldn't quite figure out the add/remove slice function in the edit groups, and I needed to finish a project I was working on. My neanderthal solution did work, it just consumed 3 X the resources. Customizing the edit groups is a much more elegant soulution. It goes to show you how flexible RMX is.

    This link really helped.
I got it now. That is the way to do it. Thanks Bo!
