    The Concerto a success!

Hey everyone! I thought I'd drop a line here to report that my piano concerto got premiered on Saturday, and seems to have been a big hit! Martha played the solo part fabulously, and even though the dress rehearsal was a little rocky, everything came together for the performance. We've been getting comments from a lot of people about how much they enjoyed it. My favorite was from a college freshman who'd never been to an orchestra concert before, and said that my concerto was his favorite piece on "the show." (The other pieces were Beethoven's Egmont Overture and Brahms' Second Symphony.) That made my day, let me tell you!

I know I promised that the GPO version of the third movement would be up by now, but I haven't had time to work on it because I've been TOO FREAKIN' BUSY! Fortunately, things seem to be lightening up now, so I hope I can find time to work on it.

Now on to the next piece!

Congratulations! It's good to hear the orchestra played it well. In high school, one of my friends was able to get his piece played by a student orchestra, and complained about how much they had botched the piece because it was beyond their skill. Looking forward to hearing the GPO rendition!
