This is totally cool! What an effect. How did you do this? It would be great if you could give us a setp-by-step instruction for creating this THX effect (maybe even a tutorial). Imagining a THX fx fest
I will endever to post the midi file and the steps I took to create the sound. I expected it would take an hour to do but it took about 3. I hurried through it but learned alot about the tools I have to work with.
I will start here with the concept of the sound from a physical standpoint. Imagine sitting in the audiance with a full orchastra on stage. Imagine if you will there is no gravity and the entire orchastra is floating in 3D space. All of the instruments are in random positions, basses on the left instead of the right, just all mixed up. You know when everyone is tuning their instrument and the sound is all over the place. Now imagine for me if you will an explosion in reverse. All the instruments are pieces of the explosion slowly moving back to their original position, as they do the speed they are traveling creates a warp field that bends the sounds thay are playing and as they all come into position the sound clears the REVERB comes out of the mix and everything becomes orginized as the basses circle around to their positions from the right to the left of the stage etc...
That's how I started, with a concept in 3D of where the sound was comming from.
After reading another post about the Acoustic Mirror in Sound Forge, I thought I would play around with it a bit. Mirrorghost is simply a one note held with the GPO Organ with the THXsound I made as the Mirror. I dropped the original Organ sound and what you hear is just hte mirror sound. Sounds a bit like ghosts.
I will put up the final THX sound after adding a bit more bass and running it through the mirror.
