Polish Mazurka on MIDI Accordian - by John Bonica

    Here's something different.

John Bonica, a very talented and gifted MIDI accordianist, has sent in this start to Polish Mazurka. This is a traditional polish folk song. The accordinan is real and the other istruments are GPO all played in with a MIDI accordian.

Great work John. Can't wait to hear when it is finished!

    Thanks for sending this.

Yes. Great sound. I like the fact that it's not over-quantized, but has a true 'real' feel to it.

    I want to hear moooorrrreee!

what, that's it?? My god you've got to finish this! I really like it, and like the other poster said, great tempo that feels very real. I"d like to hear you really break out on that accordion thingy.

The accordian blended so well with the GPO instruments. I haven't ever seen anyone using an "air" method for sending MIDI data to a computer. I can't even fathom doing it. And this is excellent. I just wish it was longer .

    Thank you!

I inherited a 1935 Excelsior accordian from my father, I wish I learned how to play it. I grew up listening to Polish accordian music, and even played Bass in a Polka band with Grammy award winner Walter Ostanek. Thanks that was a real treat to listen to!
